It’s been awhile since I last wrote to you! A lot has been happening and I wish I could give you a real-life, through-the-lense look at all that has gone on, but I will try to do the next best thing; describe it to you in as much gory detail as I possibly can!
Two weeks ago, Todd was on spring break, and last week I had my spring break, so we have checked many items off of our to-do list, or in Todd’s case the honey-do list! Looking at the stats of our combined break time, we have: designed, addressed (thanks to the best future mother-in-law for tackling that), and sent out save the dates! We have also booked a wedding photographer, finalized what we will eat at our reception, picked out cake napkins (which was more difficult than you would imagine… Who would have thought peach napkins would be so difficult to find?!), I made a little craft for our sign-in table, we bought our guest sign-in items, and our unity candles and candle sticks, and I got my wedding shoes! I feel like everything is slowly coming together, and I know that regardless of whether all of the tiny details come together or not, Todd and I will be married at the end of the day! Some of the larger items that we got crossed off the wedding planning list were picking our our flowers, and choosing and buying our wedding bands! Tuesday, my mom and grandma ventured to Hutchinson to help me pick out the flowers! We went downtown to Absolutely Flowers and the florist was able to help us right away! We sat down and talked colors, types of flowers, bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, flower petals, cake toppers, and center pieces! I am so excited to see what the shop comes up with! My mom and I are pretty clueless when it comes to flowers. We can look at something and tell you whether it looks good or not, but we don’t know any of the names of flowers, or what would look best with other things, so our florist has the freedom to do as she pleases! I love that! We are going to get something totally unique and I really feel like our florist truly understands our vision and the vibe we are going for; classic, relaxed, vintage, peach and green beauty! Saturday, Todd and I headed to Wichita to pick out wedding bands! We decided to head to the mall and do some shopping around. Todd picked out my gorgeous engagement ring at another establishment, but we decided that by looking through the shops in the mall, we might see more of a variety! We started out at Helzberg Diamonds, and we went to the women’s wedding bands! I described to the consultant exactly what I wanted and she delivered! I kept the ring on as we headed over to the men’s wedding bands, and I was really excited to see what Todd would pick and how it would look with the band I had chosen to match my engagement ring. He tried on a lot of rings… and there was A LOT of windex sprayed on his angry knuckles! The process was pretty amusing to watch: ring goes on, we talk about it, ring is pulled and twisted, but doesn’t budge, and then out comes the windex! The whole time he was trying on rings, I had a specific one picked out… and that is the one he chose! I love his wedding band, and I secretly think he does too! It is unique just like him! I love that he will wear it forever, and I love the feeling I get when I see it on his hand! Now, enough with the wedding talk, let’s move on to donkeys! Yes, donkeys! Last night, Todd and I went to Canton to support the Canton-Galva students in their Donkeyball fundraiser! Let me paint you a picture, two teams of four people, all sitting on donkeys. The competitors must ride their donkeys to their goals and attempt to make baskets with a small basketball. In order to pass or shoot the ball, they had to be sitting on their donkey, which for some was next to impossible. The donkeys either would move, ran away, or would buck the riders off. Also, to chase down a loose ball, the player had to have a hold of their donkey at all times. Imagine someone trying to run for a ball and dragging or pulling around a donkey that really did not want to go anywhere. It was extremely entertaining, and based on the size of the crowd, I would say it was a great money maker for the students at CG! Well, that’s all for now! Next up on our wedding list is men’s attire! That should be interesting! I hope you are all finding spring to be rejuvenating and are preparing your hearts for this Easter holiday! I love Easter, and I’ll share why in my next post! Bye, for now! Comments are closed.
