Hi there, it's Kendall! A lot has happened since my last post, and I am so excited to fill you all in! Todd and I's wedding planning is going very well! I know some couples that have told me, "The planning is the worst part!" or "All you'll do while planning your wedding will be not caring, making random decisions, or arguing about things that don't really matter!" Well, as of now, I can still say that with the exception of one stupid argument, I am still loving planning the wedding with Todd! Last weekend, seven of the most important ladies in my life and I went to The Dress Gallery in Wichita, KS to search for and hopefully buy my wedding dress! My mom, two sisters, niece, my Gram (grandma), my future mother in law, my best cousin, and I took over one of the trying on areas of the bridal shop! My consultant, Pamela, was amazing! She asked my what my wants were, what Todd and I's wedding was going to be like, what my budget was, and what I envisioned myself to look like on our special day! She let me try on all of the possible styles I wanted to, and helped me narrow my search down to a specific style, and minute characteristics of what I loved about the dresses I was trying on and what I wanted on my dress! Needless to say, with her help and my family's help, I said, "YES" to the dress! Now, I am a sucker for all of those wedding shows on TLC. ALL of them! I even watch the awful ones about the evil bridesmaids (let's face it, our own bridesmaids would never act that way) trying to choose a dress! Anyway, on those wedding shows, the brides have this huge bridal moment! I'm talking gasping breaths, tears, huge smiles, and a panel of family members that are clapping and crying in approval. However, my experience was very different. While Pamela was putting the dress on me, cinching me in, pulling, prodding, and making me look GOOD, I was noticing all of the details of the dress! This dress had a combination of everything I could possibly want, and when I saw the dress on my body, after I was in it, I let out a, "BAMM!!" I looked hot! It was definitely a "Dang girl, dang!" Moment. I walked out of the dressing room to stand on the pedestal (Once we pried my niece off of it) and my panel was saying the sweetest comments! They thought I looked gorgeous, and that my body looked great, and that with the specific accessories I wanted, it just was the complete package! I never had the huge, tearful, gasping for air moment. But I felt beautiful. I knew that that was the dress I wanted Todd to see me in. I told my ladies that I thought Todd would like it! I had my huge smile, but I also had the feeling of being done. I was done trying on dresses. I either wanted to keep that one on forever, or just put my regular clothes on to pack up and go home. That was my dress! Switching gears, yesterday, Todd and I took engagement pictures! A very talented young student took them for us and we had a blast! We went all over Hutchinson, trying to find some good spots, and I am so pleased with the pictures that we ended up with! Todd and I were very foreign to the whole idea of engagement pictures, after all, we've never done this before! So we had questions like: What do we wear? How do we pose? Do we use props? Where should we ever take the pictures at? But as soon as we started, all of our questions disappeared. We looked great! We posed a little, but our photographer captured pictures of Todd and I in the moment! We used a couple props (A chalkboard, of course, and a cute sign that said "You and Me"). And we found a few great locations that resulted in very good looking, fun, unique photos! I can't wait to show you ALL on the engagement section of our website! They will be up very soon! Planning our wedding has been quite the adventure so far! Next on our list of "To-Dos" is registering, picking out flowers, finishing our Save the Date's, picking out the men's attire, and going and meeting with our cake lady! Of course, I will share any informative or silly details that come up, with all of you! Comments are closed.
